This business is offering a fantastic opportunity for a Management Accountant who absolutely loves full-pack creation and wants a long-term career in a growing SME business, offering a relaxed and friendly working environment.
I’ve just got back from meeting with the MD and his team and I can honestly say, what a genuinely warm and lovely bunch of people they are – they clearly love their jobs. From my experience of meeting clients face to face, you can instantly tell what it’s like to work for the business. Here, about five people offered me a cup of tea, the breakfast delivery was being passed around the office and everyone was catching up on their weekends. Sounds cheesy but it really was just so welcoming!
You’ll be joining a ยฃ20mil t/o SME, Group set-up, so you’ll have 3 companies to produce the management accounts for, and you’ll have the guidance of an ACA-qualified Finance Director, vastly accomplished with a strict “open door” policy for any support needed.
The FD is phenomenal, the kind of boss that won’t give you any grief, will help where needed but won’t be stepping on your toes in the process – funny as well, which always helps!
It’s a role where you’ll come in, do an amazing job at producing the accounts, but without the stress and demands of tight deadlines or an overarching boss on your back. It’s great for someone who loves management accounting but wants a healthy work/life balance.
The business is looking for another “lifer” as the MD put it. They’re a stable, cash-rich and organically growing company, so they’re looking for someone to stay long-term and enhance the accounts department even further on a “lifer” basis. Cheesy again, but it really is that “family-feel” culture, their retention is so high simply due to the fact they genuinely look after their staff.
Where will the role go? That’s totally up to you. If you want to progress, fine, there’s a succession plan in place to FD-level. BUT if you’re happy at Management Accountant-level and want to remain there, also totally fine, there’s no pressure here!
