She climbed the ranks at this business in just 7 years from Trainee – she’s qualified, knowledgeable and just an all-round fantastic mentor – you could honestly learn so much from her.
She won’t hold back when it comes to training; she believes the more time and resources she invests into her 2nd in line, the quicker you can develop and the quicker you can be in those Board Meetings with her.
An FC who doesn’t want you to just “report into” her but rather “partner up” with her – that’s how inclusive this role is and that’s how invested she is in this hire.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s high expectations – only because the FC wants you to do so well – but equally, she knows how to let her hair down with her team and celebrate the wins, no matter how small!
As a pre-requisite, you must have month-end experience as they have a ledger team so do need someone more advanced than this but if you haven’t yet pulled together a full set of management accounts, that is absolutely fine.
You will gain exposure into budgeting, forecasting and P&L reporting so you really will be getting an insight into how the business operates commercially and operationally and this will tie in nicely with what you’re learning in your ACCA/ CIMA.
