Business is booming after securing a handful of new contracts and my client is now looking for an Assistant Accountant to join the busy team. You’ll find this role exciting if you want something you can sink your teeth into.
Your focus will be underpinning the Management Accountants and helping them with the preparation of the monthly and year-end accounts. This means you will be involved with all the exciting and complex duties including:
- Assisting with the analysis of the P&L
- Posting journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Sitting in essential board meetings with the senior finance team
- Reviewing and maintaining the fixed asset register
- Assisting with the production of board packs and commentary
Initially, your work will be regularly reviewed by the Management Accountants / Financial Controller, but as you progress and learn, you will be trusted to complete this work by yourself. Of course, if you need additional support, the teams will always be there to answer any questions!
It is essential you are confident with all aspects of transactional accounting, as you may need to help the team when required. However, the Financial Controllers plan is to ensure your main focal point is assisting with the management accounts.
