When I asked the Finance Manager this business what he was looking for from his next recruit, he told me this:

“An individual who will be listed as a senior figure on our meet the team page in the next 5 years. A Trainee Accountant who has the potential to move up the ranks and become a Management Accountant and tell me in their appraisals that they want to become FM… we’ll then make sure this happens”

If this isn’t an exciting vision, I don’t know what is – an opportunity to work for a manager who will genuinely invest in you & your development and more importantly, practice what he preaches.

A lot of roles at this level have a shelf life of 1-2 years; you go in and earn your stripes but then realistically you’ve reached as far as you can go at that business.

That’s where this role is different; you be on the receiving end of some of the best training I’ve seen in the workplace to enable you to progress through the company as they genuinely want you to be a long-term fixture at the business… 5, even 10 years from now!

The only pre-requisite is that you have 6-12 months’ basic finance experience… the rest? They’ll train on! But you must at least be able to showcase practical experience and not just theoretical knowledge from your AAT.
