How do I know this? This I’ve placed four candidates at this level in the past 18 months; I caught up with them all and they told me:

Management is fantastic – Two supportive mentors who are qualified and have a combined practical knowledge of 25 years which they are happy to pass onto their team

Training is thorough and in-depth – They don’t rush through it in 4-6 weeks then take their foot off the pedal. A development plan is mapped out for your first 6 months with steps in place to ensure you pass your probation

Staff are kept stimulated & motivated – It’s not all hard work and no play. The Directors believe in nothing more than rewarding staff for their hard work – with monthly “lunch clubs”, free laptop for all staff to aid remote working & your birthday off work

Your role will initially be focused on preparing the transactional accounting for the first 12 months, getting to grips with all company processes and once you are confident and up to speed, you will be handed more complex duties such as producing the monthly management accounts.

Therefore, it’s essential you can already demonstrate 6-12 months’ experience in basic accounting such as purchase & sales ledger but may feel you have no long-term future at your current company.

This is a company that is really in touch with its staff and their needs, holding regular appraisals and meetings to involve everyone in finding out what incentives the team would like putting in place and any suggestions for growing the business even further.
