It is rare to work for a company that has a structured progression route mapped out for you before you’ve even started, however, I am currently supporting a client who has just that.
Based in Stockport this business is looking for an experienced Sales Ledger Clerk to join the team of 4, you will be reporting to the Finance Manager and managing all aspects of the sales ledger function.
Having put in place a clear progression structure across the business last year has seen this company go from strength to strength and it has allowed the staff to grow and develop more than they could have imagined. Everyone at the business now has a clear vision to work towards which has resulted in increased job satisfaction and staff morale.
A typical route would look like:
0 – 6 months: This is where you will be learning the ropes of the company and settling in. Understanding the company’s processes and becoming part of the family!
6 – 12 months: You will be working closely with the Finance Manager as you start taking on more credit control duties. You will be speaking to clients on a regular basis, raising sales invoices and chasing any aged debt.
12 – 24 months: In this time you would have mastered both credit control and accounts payable duties, developing your skills and extending your knowledge. This will result in being promoted to Credit Control and Accounts Payable Senior and a big pay rise alongside this.
This company runs on a policy of rewarding people for doing well rather than punishing people who don’t. You will have regular reviews with your Finance Manager to ensure you are happy- any issues you may have are ironed out immediately to allow you to really thrive.
