Payroll Clerk

Manchester City Centre

£25,000 – £28,000

This business needs a Payroll Clerk to sit between the HR and Finance team and ensure payroll is processed accurately and most importantly, on time for all staff!

The role is completely varied; you won’t just be managing one aspect of payroll but completing the process from start to finish alongside a colleague who has worked for the business for years so can train you on all the processes, legislation and system – it’s just a pre-requisite that you’ve prepared payroll previously.

Your duties will include –

  • Processing weekly and monthly payroll
  • Calculating SSP, SMP and statutory payments
  • Calculating holiday and sick pay
  • Calculating Tax and NI
  • RTI Submissions
  • Auto-enrolment
  • Dealing with HMRC queries 
  • Setting up starters and leavers
  • Issuing P45s/ P60s 

There is the opportunity to progress into a Senior Payroll or Team Leader position as the business grows and recruits additional staff – allowing to branch into management or building your own team and sharing your knowledge.
