You will assume the responsibility of Financial Controller, operating as the No.1 in finance and report directly into the MD, acting as his financial soundboard and voice for all things accounts related.

The role is available due to the Finance Director retiring later in the year, so it’s a massive opportunity for someone to come in and take the reigns as No.1. You’ll have final sign-off on everything from the Management Accounts, the VAT, year-end, audit…It’s an all encompassing Financial Controller role, diverse and rewarding!

It’s an SME, so as you can imagine, you’ll need to be adaptable here, the MD might need a flash PNL, or payroll might query a tax code, you will be who everyone comes to for anything finance-related, so you need to comfortable having an open door policy, and the ability to “roll up your sleeves” and as the FD put it, “mucks in!”.

Given the level of role and responsibly, the business is looking for a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), so If you have proven experience as a Financial Controller and have the commercial acumen, gravitas and persona required to challenge information and lead finance, then get in touch.
