This role is best suited to a seasoned and qualified Finance Manager, who has seen it all in an SME Finance environment. Working in partnership with the Directors, you’ll enjoy managing a small and experienced Finance team, form part of the senior leadership team and play a pivotal role in the success of the business.

Currently standing at an impressive £30 million turnover, this cash-rich service business can offer its new Finance Manager a wide variety of accounting tasks, the odd new challenge and the opportunity to make any changes that will ultimately benefit the business.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

  • Overall management/responsibility of the finance department
  • Ensuring month end process
  • Production of monthly management accounts:
    • Bank & Supplier reconciliations (GBP, USD, EUR)
    • Balance Sheet reconciliations
    • Accruals/prepayments
    • Month end journals
    • Preparing P&L and Balance Sheet
    • Expense variance analysis
    • Operations expense reporting

  • Monthly VAT return submission
  • Point of contact for HMRC on all tax matters and ensuring liabilities are paid on time
  • Point of contact for external Auditors at Year end
  • Review payroll reports and authorise payment
  • Review and payment of staff expenses
  • AP/AR review
  • Weekly cash flow forecast
  • Cash flow management (minimising overdraft use where possible)
