Here is an opportunity for a Qualified Accountant to take their 1st step to Finance Manager.
This role suits someone who has produced management accounts end-to-end and is now ready for a more technical position and the chance to hone their people-management skills.
Experience of managing a team isn’t a pre-requisite for this role, currently all 5 finance members report into the Financial Controller (ACCA qualified) and she is looking to invest time into ensuring you feel confident to take the reins – She will act as your mentor.
This is a newly created role due to the growth the business has experienced over the last 2 years. Staff numbers alone have increased from 75 to 140 people, so as you can imagine, the requirements on finance have grown massively. You will come in and form part of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure this upwards trajectory of expansion continues and also ensure the finance function is able to keep up with demand.
The Financial Controller is naturally now being pulled more and more into high-level strategy meetings; seeking investments, conducting due diligence for acquisitions and acting as a key advisor to the Directors, so she spoke with complete honesty when she said she needs an ambitious No 2. to look after all things day-to-day finance.
For the FC, she needs someone absolutely solid in management accounting, as your role will be to produce the monthly MAs end-to-end for the business as well as overseeing all work for the team. What’s fantastic here is you will be able to present the MAs at Board-level once you are fully integrated into the team, another opportunity to enhance your experience and exposure.
