When I asked the partner what the firms priorities were his response was “Number one is our staff welfare.”
He didn’t talk about profits, growth, new technology or looking after their clients – we did discuss all of that and they are really important to him – but top of the pile was making sure their staff are looked after and supported – and this is where this Client Manager role comes in.
You will be operating as a senior within the business; in total there are 15 staff and your role will be split between managing a portfolio of the firms top clients; helping them with their year end accounts, Tax, Management Accounts; Cash flow forecasting and business planning – alongside reviewing the work and most importantly supporting the rest of the team.
You will be encouraged to get involved with training and developing the juniors; providing on the job coaching and up-skilling alongside making sure that everyone feels supported – that’s a big thing for this firm.
With such an emphasis on the team staff turnover is really low; there is a great atmosphere in the office, and everyone pulls together – it’s a firm where you can have a long-term career – and not get burned out by being overworked.
