Assistant Management Accountant

Location: Wrexham Head Office

Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday 08:00am – 16:30pm & Friday 08:00am – 16:00pm (with a 30-minute lunch break each day)

Up to £34,000 per annum

About the Role:

A successful SME within the construction industry are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this hands-on role is critical in adding value to their department and overall company. Candidates with experience in an SME environment will be particularly well-suited to this position.

– Assisting with preparation and producing the month-end accounting pack
– Conduct balance sheet reconciliations
– Manage pre-payments and accruals
– Oversee cash flow management
– Prepare VAT returns
– Maintain and manage fixed assets
– Handle intercompany accounts and reconciliations
– Perform invoicing and bank reconciliations
– Carry out any other duties required to support the accounts department

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

– Relevant experience in a similar role
– AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA
– Experience in the construction industry is desirable
– Proficiency in Sage 50 is desirable
– Excellent analytical and reasoning skills
– Strong interpersonal skills
– Ability to adapt to change, solve problems, and maintain a positive attitude
