This is a modern, entrepreneurial and expanding group – organic turnover growth – with an exciting requirement for an ambitious and career minded Assistant Financial Controller. This isn’t a giant faceless corporate where you will feel insignificant or have a sense of being ‘a small cog’ – you’ll be working with the FD, MD, Ops Director, Sales Director…. And all of the wider senior management team. Hugely interesting and varied for someone ultimately looking to sharpen their tools and progress to FD of an SME in future.
You’ll ideally be recently qualified and have fast tracked quickly and be looking to progress swiftly but in a structured manner and consider yourself a rising star with a lot to give and a desire to be on the path to Finance Director in the next 3-5 years. This business and its leaders will give you all of the experience and support to ensure that you have a professional toolkit to step into that FD role.
You need to have a good grounding of management accounting, financial reporting and analytical skills – you’ve probably completed a degree (or AAT) and have at least 5 years practical accounting exposure.
You’ll be working for the highly approachable FD in a varied and interesting FC position. You’ll be stuck into variance analysis, pricing projects, business partnering, management accounts prep, budgeting, forecasting and loads of valuable exposure.
You’ll also be owning a significant ERP project – embedding the new software to ensure it is used to it’s optimum. You need to be naturally tech savvy with an interest in IT / systems / added value analysis / MI.
