This role will give you a direct route to becoming a Finance Manager with no prerequisite to have existing management accounts experience.
All they are asking for is an individual who has accomplished ledger accounting, has experience in month-end close but is restricted to any further development at their current company.
You will report directly to the FM who is working towards becoming FD in the next 3-5 years therefore it will be this position that will be first in line to be his successor.
Reason being, they have a completely competent and self-sufficient ledger team and a Trainee Accountant who is progressing well, but they need someone in the team to support with producing the monthly management accounts and reporting schedules including P&L and cash flow.
This isn’t a role with false promises; you won’t be sold the dream and then brought in to be stuck on ledger accounting as this is well looked after; you can concentrate on building up experience which is relevant to the ACCA/ CIMA qualification (the business would like to take someone who is who AAT Qualified or at early stages of ACCA/ CIMA)
There is a development plan for this role so you’ll have clear steps marked out for where you can be in 5 years and how you can achieve this but you will also have 6 monthly appraisals with the FM so you can chat through your progress, discuss any additional training you may need and then plan for the next 6 months.
