Your journey with this business has been broken into 3 clear phases. In each phase, you will find yourself expanding your knowledge and skills within management accounts.
Phase 1
0 – 6 months
- A full introduction to the business – the team will take you out for a meal in Bury or Manchester (restaurant of your choice) to break the ice with the hope of creating genuine connections with the team!
- Working closely with the Finance Manager to understand your transactional/management accounts experience and how it applies to this role.
- Full training on Xero and option to be put on an advanced MS Excel course, paid for by the business.
Phase 2
6 – 12 months
- Shadowing the Senior Finance Team and assisting with preparing management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and analysis of P&L statements.
- Sitting in business-critical meetings where your input and findings will influence commercial decisions.
- Fully integrating yourself within the Senior Finance Team and supporting them with the management accounts.
Phase 3
12 months +
- Becoming fully qualified with the business, ACCA or CIMA whatever aligns best with you.
- You’ll be preparing your own set of end-to-end management accounts for the Finance Manager including commentary, variance analysis, and cashflow forecasting.
- Promotion to Management Accountant and salary review. For context, everyone who has excelled has received a 10% salary increase.
