Our client is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their Sheffield team on a 12-month maternity contract – but don’t mistake this for a “keep things ticking over” kind of job. This is hands-on, fast-moving, and genuinely central to how the business runs.
You’ll work across two businesses with 75% of your time spent on the transactional finance for Sheffield and 25% for Manchester – requiring 1 day a week’s travel to Manchester to sit with the admin team & Head of Finance – all expenses paid for.
You’ll be right in the thick of it – keeping cash flowing, owning the purchase and sales ledger, staying one step ahead of issues, and helping drive month-end over the line. This isn’t box-ticking; it’s being the person people rely on to keep things sharp, accurate, and under control. You’ll spot what others miss, fix problems before they escalate, and have a real say in how things get done.
