What an opportunity to run the finance function of a multi-sited construction company, spearheaded by two ambitious and entrepreneurial Managing Directors.
They told me the company’s success relies entirely on its team’s enthusiasm, commitment & “get up and go” so they are looking for a likeminded Bookkeeper /Accounts Manager who will approach each month’s finances with the same attitude.
It is essential you have working knowledge of operating on Xero; the reason being, they use the package to interrogate the figures and costings for each project the work on – these can be multi-million-pound developments where the level of detail expected from the Directors is critical.
You will be responsible for not only producing the monthly bookkeeping via Xero but also using the bolt-on features to provide the Directors with reports on how each project is operating against budget and what the financial forecasting is looking like.
The business always promotes continuous development; they have an excellent working relationship with their accountants who produce the management accounts however if you felt confident in taking on some of these responsibilities yourself, they are happy to delegate – they certainly won’t hold you back if you want to challenge your skillset.
The Directors sat down with the team post-Covid to determine how they could offer more benefits for staff – understanding people’s requirements outside of work and wanting to accommodate for those commitments.
Which is why they can offer flexible start and finish times (ideal if you wanted to do the school drop-off or needs to beat the traffic) as they completely understand how important it is to accommodate for what their team needs.
