An opportunity has been created for a Purchase Ledger Supervisor to join this expanding firm in Bolton.
You will supervise a team of 2 and reporting to the Finance Manager you will oversee the day to day purchase ledger functions whilst also being very hands on in the role.
The business has an excellent reputation, and with that comes a real emphasis from the management team on supporting the staff and ensuring everyone pulls together at the end of the month.
Although this role does include supervising staff the business is happy to consider applicants that are looking for the opportunity to ‘step up’ and may not currently be in a management role.
Below is an overview of the responsibilities:
- Oversee a team of two purchase ledger clerks
- Oversee six ledgers (of varying size) within the group
- Ensure the accuracy of the creditors ledger by reconciling all accounts to supplier statements on a monthly basis
- Obtain bank details from new suppliers to ensure payments can be made accurately via the BACS system
- Update cash books with payment runs
- Oversee the process & review of weekly payment runs
- Reconcile supplier accounts
- Ensure time-critical payments are made without delay

- You will be deadline focused, ensuring our suppliers are paid on time as well as meeting internal deadlines
- Highly organised and conscientious, you’ll be able to plan your own and others work to tight deadlines
- Accurate with superb attention to detail
- Possess excellent communication skills
