I met with this Finance Director, took the spec and thought instantly, if I was in finance and wanted to work for one of the loveliest ladies ever, really supportive but also not breathing down my neck every 5 minutes, this would be the role I envisaged in my head!
She was truly lovely – she basically said to me, “Rebecca, I just want someone who knows Purchase Ledger inside out, someone who will come in, get their head down and do a good job – what they’ll get in return is so stress or micro-managing from me!”
You’ll form part of a strong transactional team, the workload is distributed, you’ll get your entities within the group to manage – and it’s your job to keep the suppliers happy and paid on time!
It’s a real ethical and moral company that makes sure everyone is paid when they should be – so you’ll not have to fight fires or deal with someone at the end of the phone asking why they’ve not been paid… afterall, as the FD said, that’s not what you go to work for!
This role requires someone who can commit to working 5 days in their Warrington, but as soon as the clock hits 5pm, I guarantee you won’t be taking work home – that’s you done for the day! No sitting on your laptop at your kitchen table firing off purchase invoices at this business!
