Platinum are representing a well-established, service-based SME in Wigan, in sourcing a Financial Controller to add to their growing team…
The business stands at c. £5million t/o, and you’ll resume full responsibility of 2 x direct reports, working in a finance team of 4. It’s a small team, so we need diligent, hands-on candidates, who aren’t afraid to dig into every area of accounting.
You’ll oversee an Accounts Assistant and Credit Controller, reviewing and signing off work, upskilling the team in month-end tasks, and you’ll prepare all management accounts, analysis and reporting for submission to the Finance Director and owners.

It’s an opportunity for an accomplished Financial Controller to manage their own time, set the expectations in the team and really mould the role to their working-style.

They want you in and around the team so it suits someone who likes being in the office and having that daily interaction with the Directors and wider business – A peoples person!
On your profile, the Directors are looking for a self-starter, a Financial Controller who can provide them with real insights, guide teams effectively and dig into the accounts, someone who sees a task outstanding and completes it when everyone else is tied up. It’s an SME so you’ve got to be adaptable.
