This is a role perfectly suited to someone who wants to be a senior figure in finance but doesn’t want to be the next Financial Controller or Finance Director.
My client is a well-established privately-owned organisation operating at c £45 million, cash rich and experiencing steady growth year on year and subsequently the leadership team have identified a new requirement for a technically astute qualified accountant to join the business.
They are positioning this role alongside the Financial Controller however without the extra demands faced at FC level, this will be a 9-5 remit then log off and relax knowing you have done a fantastic job.
There is plenty of scope to take on more responsibility in the company however the are really conscious that they don’t want it to be an all-encompassing role and one that affects a work life balance or other commitments.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Preparing periodic financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and notations
- Providing a support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions
- Informing key strategic decisions and formulating business strategies
- Advising on the financial implications of business decisions
- Analysing financial performance and contributing to medium and long-term business planning and forecasts
- Offering professional judgement on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance
- Liaising with other function managers to put finances and accounts in context
- Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed
