This stable yet constantly expanding business is on the lookout for a Credit Controller to manage a portfolio of domestic & international customers in a team of 2.
This is not just a phone-bashing role; debt retrieval is the aim however it’s equally as important to maintain the relationships with the clients as the company prides itself on its customer retentions and also referral success.
From the moment the order is obtained by the sales representatives through to when the invoice is passed to yourself to be chased, customer service is absolutely critical; they have a range of sole traders through to corporate, blue-chip company and the approach is always the same – retain and look after the client.
The Sales Ledger is looked after by the Accounts Assistants in the team freeing you up to concentrate on reducing debtor days and producing a monthly overview of the status of your ledger; they are a growing enterprise always on the lookout to acquire new companies but what they’re always conscious of is never overworking staff so, as they obtain new customers, more heads will be added to the Credit Control team.
There is absolutely no micro-managing in this role; you will have weekly and monthly “update meetings” with the FC so he can understand cash flow and what payments you’re expecting to get in but he very much adopts the approach of trusting you to get on with your work and calling upon him if you need support, but he definitely won’t be breathing down your neck.
It’s essential in order to apply for this role that you have Credit Control experience as whilst there will be a handover and another Credit Controller to show you processes and train you on the system, they do need someone who is pro-active at picking up the phone and getting the money in!
