You will work directly with the Production Accountant and Finance Director; both of whom have progressed into their roles from Assistant Production Accountant because of the level of exposure they’ve managed to gain in the role.
You will be responsible for producing the management accounts for a number of productions within your portfolio; from Channel 4 documentaries to sporting broadcasts, TV commercials to BBC dramas; you will have control of the income & expenditure for each, meeting with Productions Managers weekly and monthly to discuss financial forecasting and budgeting and then producing a costings summary to present to the FD.
Not one day will be the same; in fact, on Monday you could be drafting the cost of a new set location and by Tuesday you can be calculating the budget for the filming crew’s salaries!
To be considered for the role you must have worked in production, project or cost accounting and have an understanding of how internal and external factors affect business and financial risk.
