Operating as the number two to the Finance Director, he is not the type of leader who is protective of his work and won’t delegate – he progressed to this level thanks to an encouraging and supporting manager, so he wants to offer this to someone else!
You won’t simply do the leg work for the MA with the FD taking all the glory – you will sit alongside him in board meetings and be completely involved in all decision-making.
This role requires an individual who is accomplished in month-end and transactional accounting and now needs that next step in line with your ACCA/ CIMA studies – therefore it’s ideal if you’re part-qualified.
You will be producing monthly management accounts inclusive of board pack & commentary with the opportunity to support on projects & get involved in the reporting schedules – all experience that will boost your CV and allow you to step away from transactional accounting as they have a Finance Assistant who manages all of this.
However, don’t be fooled into thinking you will be thrown into the deep end; you will receive day to day support and monthly appraisals, so this really is an excellent training ground.
The business offers flexibility with start and finish times (you can start between 7-9 and finish between 3.30-5.30) with time off during exam periods.
