What is perfect about this opportunity is that the FC isn’t looking for the finished article – but can definitely offer you all the experience you need to move into her role in the next 2-3 years.
As she progresses through the company, so will you – and there is no obligation to already be qualified, no obligation to be the finished article – she just needs an individual who wants to achieve this status.
And what you will get is the opportunity to take control over the management accounts for your own entity within the group; benefiting from working alongside the FC who has been in your shoes and has got to the level she’s at thanks to the mentoring from her senior – support & guidance she is now looking to pass on.
You will get trained on managing the full month-end cycle up to board submission with 2 Finance Assistants working with you to relieve you of the transactional accounting and allowing you to concentrate on the nitty gritty stuff you’re dying to get stuck into.
As they continue to acquire new companies and expand the business (they are growing at a rate of about 30% year on year), they are intent on future-proofing the finance team so whoever they hire, they want as an integral core member – someone who will flourish in the role and bring fresh ideas to the table.
You won’t simply be brought in to do the “leg work” for the FC to take all the glory in board meetings; you will work in partnership with her as she trains you and then gives you the freedom to make this entity your own.
Full study support for the ACCA/ CIMA will be provided although there is no obligation to study – it’s entirely dependent on you and your career goals. Whether you qualify or not – you won’t be held back when it comes to applying for senior positions within the business.
