This role is cast-iron proof that you don’t need to work for a corporate conglomerate, work all the hours under the sun and get caught up in the rat race to succeed and become a Finance Director.
The current FD at this business started at the bottom and worked his way up thanks to the resources & training on offer; he didn’t have to jump through hoops to be noticed or burn himself out to achieve his goals – the business recognised talent and gave him all the support he needed to reach the top of the chain.
Here’s a company who, regardless of position, will carve a development plan for each employee. For this role in particular, it includes:
- Fast-track to FD for one of the entities within the next 3 – 5 years
- Full study package for either ACCA or CIMA
- Opportunity to hire your own assistant within your first 12-18 months to ensure you’re able to push on and progress
You will work alongside someone at the same level as you who manages other entities within the group so you will always have support – alongside absorbing the knowledge of the FD who is patient & understanding; at the end of the day, he has been in your shoes and understands how critical this career move is for you!
You don’t need to yet be qualified and you don’t need to be producing full sets of management accounts singlehandedly for this role – they’ll help you get to this stage. But what they do need as a pre-requisite is someone with experience in month-end close, cash flow forecasting and P&L reporting.
