What’s great about this Accounts Assistant role is that they aren’t looking for a finished article, more so someone with the potential that they can train, support and invest time and study into.
They accept that you may have limited exposure or feel you are not getting the opportunities at your current business, for them that is great as they have the time and resource to support you fully in becoming AAT Qualified but also ensuring you have the relevant experience to match.
Week 1 at this company would be getting to grips with exactly what the business do, shadowing the other Accounts Assistant and beginning your training on understanding the systems.
Your training will last as long as you need it – they’d rather invest in making sure you’re confident in the role from the start and if that takes 4 weeks or 4 months, there’s no pressure!
This is a multi-faceted business, and your role will include managing the billing & revenue streams for each site, ensuring money is collected and reconciled in order for the management accounts to be completed; you will be at the front-end of the process and have access to all financial information which is why the FC really does view this as the critical role within the business.
It would suit an individual who is on the path to becoming an accountant and has 12-18 months’ experience in a reconciliations or payments role where an eye for detail is critical to the role.
The last person in this role was hired in spring 2021 and is already stepping up to take on management accounts responsibilities in line with her AAT qualification and as the company forecast the same level of expansion for this year, you will also be exposed to additional responsibilities as you settle into the role.
